With my return to work quickly approaching, I’ve been thinking about what I can do to offer some one-on-one time with my little one. Something that we can always look forward to together. So, I decided, Sunday Mornings, are for us.

BREAKFAST
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And that will be true for Sundays. Whether he is in the kitchen helping me, or standing on a chair watching from a distance. We are jamming to the music, laughing, and looking forward to our meal.
Today, we had Bacon, fried eggs, hash browns, and cinnamon rolls. I always throw in some sort of cheese and fruit. This week we are on a blueberry kick. And he enjoys eggs of all kinds, so I normally give him extra. Yogurt is also something he tends to have almost every morning.
Now, don’t come for me about the size of his plate or what’s on it. I am not here to promote healthy eating. I know I have my good days and my bad days. Some days I care, and some days I don’t. Odds are, he may eat 75% of this plate. There are times that he has surprised me and eats it all. It is what it is. We enjoy the meal, that is the point.
SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?
Today we posted up at the living room table, and I turned on our favorite show to watch together. Scooby-Doo. I am not talking about the newer ones, though we do watch those on occasion, but the older ones. Like the very first episode. I had put this on for him a long time ago, but I didn’t think it would catch his attention and that he would grow to request it. So when we aren’t feeling good, having a bad day, we turn on Scooby-Doo.
He has watched it so many times that he says quotes from the show and recognizes certain episodes. I love it. And I hope it becomes us. I can imagine us getting together when we’re older and watching it. I hope he passes it on to his family and remembers all the good times attached to it.
This time doesn’t seem like much. Maybe a little over an hour, but I think it’s going to mean the world to both of us.
If you are a Scooby-Doo fan too, you can watch a ton on HBO MAX.
